The Premier League have confirmed the match officials for Sunday’s clash between Manchester United and Everton at Goodison Park.
Erik ten Hag’s men travel to Merseyside in an attempt to deal Everton another blow after they were given a 10-point deduction by the Premier League. John Brooks has been appointed referee by the Premier League, while Lee Betts and Darren Cann act as his assistants.
Andy Madley will act as fourth official and Chris Kavanagh is in charge of VAR, receiving assistance from Eddie Smart.
The Reds currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League table, after winning their previous two matches, so the manager will expect his players to carry that form into the weekend once everyone returns from the November international break.
Following their 10-point deduction, Everton are 19th in the Premier League on just four points. A win could be enough to take them out of the relegation zone, though, so it’s not like they’ve got the biggest climb of their lives on the agenda.
United star Bruno Fernandes is expecting a ‘difficult’ game at Goodison Park, but I don’t think anyone reckons it will be a walk in the park. Sean Dyche’s players will be out looking for a response to the Premier League’s punishment.
So far this season, unfortunately, many league fixtures have been dominated by either the on-field referee or VAR. United have had major decisions go against them and the focus is always on.
