Wayne Rooney’s Amazon Prime documentary is set to air on Channel 4 tonight.
The footage featuring former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is archived since The Sun claimed Rooney didn’t want his ex-manager to feature in his documentary.
Rooney, a film charting the life and career of United’s all-time record goalscorer, was released on Amazon Prime back in 2022 but it is now set to air on Channel 4.
Fans were amazed that Ferguson didn’t make an exclusive appearance, despite being in charge for nine of Rooney’s trophy-laden years at Old Trafford. He even made him club captain.
A report suggests Rooney declined the offer and his production team chose to use archive footage of Ferguson instead.
Ferguson was invited to the film’s premiere, but couldn’t attend due to commitments elsewhere.
David Moyes and Jose Mourinho feature in the documentary, as former managers, but there’s no place for Ferguson.
