Man City star lauds ‘incredible’ Marcus Rashford, says he should be ranked alongside Mbappe and Vinicius

Manchester City’s Kyle Walker reserved special praise for Marcus Rashford despite the pair representing either side of one of the fiercest English rivalries.

The homegrown Manchester United star is on the back of his most prolific campaign to date, having netted 30 goals for the first time in his career.

Rashford ended the 2022/2023 season by being named the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year and was quickly awarded with a fresh and lucrative contract extension for his efforts. Since then though, his form has plateaued.

Currently, the 26-year-old has just one goal to his name in all competitions, which came on September 3 in a Premier League clash against Arsenal, and he has played 16 matches.

Some parts of the fanbase are losing patience with Rashford admist United’s woeful start to the term, though others are confident he will pick up consistency soon and provide for the team.

Walker lauds Rashford

Walker is one person who’s well aware of Rashford’s capabilities, having played against him at club level but with him for England.

When asked to describe his fellow Three Lions star, Walked told Sky Sports Premier League“Top. I think he’s incredible. I think he is one of the hardest wingers and [one of] the most exciting wingers to play with and against. I feel sometimes that Marcus goes on a run of form and he gets the goals that he did last season; he was electric… fantastic. Probably got Manchester United into the Champions League.

“For me, Marcus, and I’m not just saying this because he’s an England teammate, he should be ranked right up there with the likes of [Kylian] Mbappe [and] Vinicius Jr… these type of wingers because has got that ability. He drives at players 1v1, the shot is touch, bang, both feet and he can hit a ball. For me, he is a fantastic player.”

  1. Do me a favour… Marcus ” lunch meals” Rashford, up there with the likes of Mbappe and Vinicius Jr 🤣🤣 On his day he can be good. But he isn’t consistent enough or technically good enough, plus he doesn’t work hard enough…
