Erik ten Hag has been handed an almost impossible hand in the first three months of the new season, with the Dutchman losing first-team stars on a weekly basis.
Results on the pitch have been improving despite the highly tumultuous Champions League campaign, with the Reds steadily climbing the Premier League table.
Each win is coming at a price, however, with both Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen hobbling off last week’s 1-0 win vs Luton last weekend with injuries that subsequently ruled them out of international fixtures.
During the two-week hiatus from club football, United have had more scares and Andre Onana became the latest player to be withdrawn due to injury whilst representing Cameroon.
Thankfully, it was reported shortly afterward that despite being unable to continue, Onana’s injury is not said to be serious and he should be in contention to feature at Everton last weekend.
He is still added to United’s growing injury list, with Ten Hag missing as many as nine first-team players, as listed below.
Christian Eriksen (knee), Andre Onana (muscular), Rasmus Hojlund (muscular), Amad Diallo (knee), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Jonny Evans (muscular), Luke Shaw (muscular), Lisandro Martinez (foot), Casemiro (muscular).
Ten Hag will be desperate to welcome his players back sooner rather than later, with at least four of the injured players walking straight back into the side.
