Manchester United could be set for a much-needed refresh in the winter transfer window, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe closes in on his expected buy-in in the coming weeks.

As per a fresh report from The Sun, Erik ten Hag would be open to sanctioning the exits of Antony, Anthony Martial and, as expected, Jadon Sancho, who is set to be heavily pursued by Saudi Arabia in January.

In turn, the manager will be granted the funds to bolster his squad in the best way he sees fit. Ten Hag has his eyes firmly set on a top-four finish to ensure United rub shoulders with Europe’s elite again next term and currently, they sit sixth-placed and five points off of Tottenham Hotspur in fourth.

Ten Hag eyeing new additions

A full-back and a winger are expected to be the areas United strengthen, while other reports have suggested a new centre-back will be sought after frequent injuries to the backline this season.
