Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal are reportedly eyeing a double-swoop for Manchester United duo Casemiro and Jadon Sancho, as per Ben Jacobs.
Sancho looks nailed on to leave Old Trafford in the January window, having been completely exiled from all first-team action and facilities over a widely-covered feud with Erik ten Hag. It is believed that he will be heavily pursued by clubs in Saudi Arabia in the New Year, though he did rebuff interest from Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq in the closing stages of the summer window.
Juventus have also contacted the Red Devils over a potential loan deal for the 23-year-old, however, United are waiting to see if any permanent bids come in, which would see them wash their hands of Sancho entirely.
Casemiro linked with Saudi switch
As for Casemiro, reports have begun circulating in recent months regarding his possible switch to the Middle East. He has come under fire for his performances this season, often looking rusty and off-the-pace, but it cannot be forgotten how crucial a role he played in his first year at the club.
The experienced midfielder is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and isn’t expected back until after Christmas, but it’s highly unlikely that Ten Hag would be willing to part with such a pivotal player mid-season, especially given the team’s torrid luck with injuries this term.
Sancho cost the Reds £73 million back in 2021 and Casemiro signed in a £70m package from Real Madrid in August 2022. They are two of the highest earners on the books in M16.
