Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund is currently joint-top of the Champions League scoring charts after his brace in the 4-3 defeat against Copenhagen on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old took his tally of goals in Europe to five, which should be enough to silence any critics that want to point out his record of zero Premier League goals since joining the club.

Hojlund tops the list of Champions League scorers with Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, who has also scored five so far. The Spaniard scored twice in Atleti’s 6-0 win over Celtic on Tuesday night.

UEFA released their latest scoring charts this morning.

It’s just a shame that after Hojlund’s two goals in the first half against Copenhagen, United were unable to keep their lead after conceding twice in the space of five minutes.

The result means we could be out of the Champions League, with a big away trip to Galatasaray coming up. United’s final game of the group stage is at home to Bayern Munich and it goes without saying that we cannot afford anymore defeats.

We must defend better. We must respond to setbacks better. And, finally, VAR must do better.
