Casemiro, Varane and Lindelof latest: Manchester United team news for Fulham trip

Erik ten Hag has provided a team news update in today’s pre-match press conference, via Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United are on the back of two consecutive losses by a three-goal margin for the first time in 61 years, as well as an eighth defeat in their opening 15 games.

This has consequently led to Ten Hag’s position being heavily scrutinised, with reports suggesting he may not see out the season in the dugout.

Tomorrow, the Reds return to Premier League action with an early kick-off clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Anything less than three points would only add pressure onto the Dutchman’s shoulders and see the squad’s morale take another hit ahead of their must-win Champions League outing next week.

As for Ten Hag’s options, he has confirmed that Raphael Varane will make the trip down to London and is fit to feature. The centre-back missed Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie through illness and prior to that, he was left on the bench for the Manchester derby, so he’ll likely start from the get-go to try and provide some stability in defence.

On the other hand, Victor Lindelof has now fallen ill and will need to be assessed closer to the game in order to determine his availability.

It was confirmed by the club on Friday that Casemiro will oversee a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
