FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa is no stranger to the Manchester United gossip columns.
The Portuguese goalkeeper has been on United’s radar for over a year, but Erik ten Hag opted to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan instead.
Reports now suggest United had a scout watching Vizela and Porto at the weekend.
A Bola claims the scout in question was there to keep an eye on Costa and that United could make a move for the highly-rated goalkeeper in January.
Now, that seems a bit far-fetched after spending big money to sign Onana during the summer and it is believed that Porto want at least €75 million for Costa’s signature.
United also have Altay Bayindir, who joined in the summer from Fenerbahce, but the Turkish keeper has yet to make his debut for the club.
The Reds need to spend €75m elsewhere before looking for a new keeper, so I wouldn’t be paying much attention to this A Bola report. United always have scouting travelling around to games to keep an eye on players.
