(Video) West Ham star says he grew up supporting Manchester United and idolised David Beckham

West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen has admitted that he was a boyhood Manchester United fan.

The England international has been prolific under former Red Devils boss David Moyes and saw the Irons on their way to European glory by scoring the winning goal in the Europa Conference League final last season.

Bowen, 26, has seemingly taken some inspiration in his playing career from United and Three Lions icon David Beckham, whom he admitted was one of his favourite players.

He has, however, been linked with a potential move to Liverpool in the future, so he’ll have to keep his love for United under wraps if he ever makes the switch to Anfield.

When speaking with Sky Sports, Bowen was asked which team he supported growing up and replied: “Man United. I loved David Beckham growing up and, I don’t know why, I used to go to games like after school. I remember I used to leave about 4pm from Hereford and then go to the games.”
