TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods was “pied” by Erik ten Hag, albeit unintentionally, during a post-match interview after Manchester United’s 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen.
Ten Hag joined Laura Woods, Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes on the touchline for an interview after the game.
Things got a little awkward due to the fact TNT Sports only had two microphones available for three people. As a result, Woods let Ten Hag hold onto her mic.
Woods spent the next minute or so waiting for the mic to return, but she was forced to snatch it out of Ten Hag’s hands whilst thanking him for his time.
“Thank you, Erik,” Woods said. “Thank you for interviewing me as well, that was different.”
It got even worse for Woods when she tried to get a handshake, but he was in the middle of saying goodbye to Ferdinand and Scholes.
Woods eventually shook hands with Ten Hag and said: “Thank you very much, double embarrassment, appreciate that Erik ten Hag.”
She continued: “How weird was that? I didn’t even know what to do with my hands with no microphone and he obviously pied me completely!”

It was a good night for United because we got the result we needed, however, the performance was far from convincing.
After losing to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in the group stages, United need to ensure they don’t slip up again in Europe. We sit third in Group A with three points – one adrift of Galatasaray.
