After another weekend in the Premier League, Garth Crooks selects his team of the week and it features one Manchester United player.
The Reds travelled to Bramall Lane where they beat Sheffield United 2-1, but the performance itself was less than convincing.
United opened the scoring thanks to a Scott McTominay volley, but they lost their lead just minutes later when the Scotland international gave away a penalty for handball inside the box.
A better second half followed as the match winner came from an unlikely source. It was Diogo Dalot who curled his shot into the top corner from distance.
In turn, Dalot makes BBC Sport’s team of the week in a back three along with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Newcastle’s Kieron Trippier.
Crooks reflected on Dalot’s performance against Sheffield United, writing: “What a strike by the Manchester United defender. The two-touch finish was as clean as I have seen from a full-back.”
Dalot will be looking over his shoulder once Aaron Wan-Bissaka returns from injury, but the Portuguese full-back did himself no harm by scoring a crucial goal at the weekend.
Premier League team of the week: Vicario; Dalot, Van Dijk, Trippier; Maddison, Rice, Luiz, Doku; Salah, Haaland, Mbeumo.
