Copenhagen manager says he has warned his squad about aggressive Manchester United player

Rasmus Hojlund reunites with his former club this evening when Manchester United take on Copenhagen in the Champions League.

The forward progressed from the youth to the senior ranks while playing at Copenhagen, making his professional debut for the club at the age of 17.

He then opted to depart his home city in 2022, following three years with The Lions, to join Austrian outfit Sturm Graz – where he stayed for just seven months before completing a €17 million move to Atalanta.

With the Red Devils and Erik ten Hag impressed with what they’d seen of Hojlund in Serie A, they then opted to sign a £72m deal for the 20-year-old. He has since netted three goals in red, all of which have come in the Champions League, and he’ll be desperate to add to his tally tonight in a must-win group-stage clash.

It’s expected that he’ll lead the line for United and hopefully, he won’t take it too easy against his former club – especially if either of his twin brothers make the trip over to Manchester!

Hojlund labelled ‘aggressive’ striker

Ahead of kick-off at Old Trafford, Copenhagen boss Jacob Neestrup told the media how he’d warned his squad of the threat Hojlund provides; not only from his goalscoring, but his physical and dominant presence.

He said, via Bold.DK“I would like to think that we have it under control – just like we had with Harry Kane – but that is easier said than done.

“The players will be allowed to see some video of him, but I think that there are more of them who can remember that the elbows are out and that he is quite aggressive type. I always think it is special to meet former FC Copenhageners.”
