Mount and Reguilon return: Predicted Manchester United line-up to face Copenhagen

Our predicted Manchester United line-up to take on Copenhagen in Tuesday’s Champions League clash.

It’s the Red Devils’ third group-stage game this term and they will be desperately seeking their first three points in Europe. Currently, they sit rock bottom of Group A with zero points after two straight defeats.

Qualification to the next round is now made significantly more difficult, with tomorrow’s outing an absolute must-win – a draw just won’t cut it.

As for Erik ten Hag’s options, Sergio Reguilon is expected to return to the fold after missing five games through injury. Meanwhile, Casemiro is back in training after a knock on his ankle but is unavailable for selection tomorrow due to the red card he received vs Galatasaray.

Predicted starting XI

Onana

Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Reguilon

Harry Maguire being named Man of the Match against Sheffield United may have earned him another start tomorrow. If he’s performing well, why not reward him with game time?

Raphael Varane being fully fit is also a huge boost.

Amrabat, Mount

Casemiro’s suspension means a change will be needed from last time out in Europe, and while Scott McTominay scored at the weekend, it’s safe to say his performance besides the contribution was nothing to write home about; as per the United app, he made eight successful passes in the 63 minutes he played. In comparison, Sofyan Amrabat made 56.

Mason Mount has been used sparingly since returning from his injury and deserves a chance to showcase his abilities. After all, they paid £55 million for him.

Antony, Fernandes (C), Rashford

It’s unlikely that Ten Hag would utilise anyone else on the right flank given that Antony is the preferred option, over the likes of Facundo Pellistri. Hard to see him benching Bruno Fernandes or Marcus Rashford, though I would like to see more of Alejandro Garnacho.

Hojlund

Hopefully, he is able to add to his three goals in the competition.
