Two Manchester United academy graduates reunite at Premier League clash

Anthony Elanga and Teden Mengi, two products of Carrington, reunited during Nottingham Forest’s Premier League clash vs Luton Town on Saturday.

The pair both departed Manchester United permanently in the summer to round off their Red Devils careers.

Mengi, 21, joined United in 2009 and went on to make two first-team appearances throughout his time in Manchester. He was also sent on two loan spells to Derby County and Birmingham City but unfortunately saw his senior career plagued by injuries so hopefully, he can have better luck with Luton this term.

Elanga made a £15 million move to Forest in search of more frequent game time and has gone on to make nine league appearances, scoring once and assisting three goals in that time; two of those assists came during yesterday’s 2-2 draw with the Hatters.

Post-match, the former Reds swapped shirts and posed for a picture outside the City Ground, which Elanga shared along with a throwback snap on his Instagram story.
