Villarreal monitor Manchester United winger to replace Yeremy Pino

In recent seasons, Jeremy Pino has been seen as one of the brightest young talents in La Liga, proving to be one of Villarreal’s most important players.

Now all of a sudden, after a questionable start to the season, it’s been reported that Villarreal are looking for a replacement for Pino. This is a player with 12 caps for Spain.

Apparently the Spanish side feel their standards are dropping so much on the pitch, they don’t want to delay the sale of one of their biggest assets.

These reports – via El Gol Digital – also state that the player Villarreal are tracking to replace Pino is Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri.

Erik ten Hag has shown more confidence in Pellistri this season, so a lot will depend on whether Villarreal want the Uruguayan winger on a permanent or loan deal in January. The report itself doesn’t make that clear.

Could Pellistri become the second Uruguayan footballer to leave United for Villarreal? The first was Diego Forlan.

The Uruguay has already had to two loan spells in Spain at Deportivo Alaves and they didn’t go quite to plan.
