Anthony Elanga has reflected on his £15 million move to Nottingham Forest after nine years at Manchester United.
The 21-year-old was keen to acquire more game time after a quiet season at Old Trafford, in which he was predominantly reduced to a bench role in Erik ten Hag’s first term.
Forest were quick to establish their interest in the Carrington graduate and having just escaped relegation in the closing stages of the 2022/2023 campaign, Steve Cooper was looking to overhaul his squad ahead of another season in the top flight.
Elanga was one of numerous new arrivals welcomed at the City Ground across the window and the Sweden international has already been granted eight Premier League appearances, returning one goal and one assist thus far; his maiden goal came in a sensational 1-0 win over Chelsea at the beginning of September at Stamford Bridge.
Elanga compares United and Forest
Having settled into life in the Midlands, Elanga has compared his new club to his former, telling Fotballskanalen: “Nottingham [Forest] are still a great team historically. They have won two Champions Leagues [European Cups]. So, you could say I’ve gone from one big team to another big team. The difference isn’t that big.”
He added: “We have started well in the league, winning games, drawing some and losing some. But it’s a good team, a good city and good players. The season is long and hopefully, we can have a good season.”
Elanga seems not to understand that forest has 2 European cuos not cl titles. So his words doesnt mean that much and he didnt pass the ball at United maybe they can learn him that over there.
