Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund among 25 finalists for prestigious Golden Boy award

Rasmus Hojlund is one of 25 young players in contention to win the prestigious Golden Boy award.

The shortlist was cut down to 25 finalists on Thursday evening and Manchester United’s highly-rated frontman was included among the star-studded youngsters.

Hojlund arrived at Old Trafford in August for an initial £64 million, with a further £8m that could come later in add-ons. He signed a five-year deal when making the switch from Atalanta and had the United faithful filled with high expectations over what he’d bring to the squad.

The 20-year-old’s start to life as a Red was delayed by a back injury, so his debut came against Arsenal on September 3. He has three goals under his belt so far, all of which came in the Champions League, making him the competition’s joint-top ‘scorer so far.

He is also joint-second for goals scored in Euro 2024 qualifying on six, along with club teammate Scott McTominay.
