Manchester United are among a handful of clubs who are ‘interested’ in the highly-rated FC Schalke midfielder Assan Ouedraogo.
That’s according to TEAMtalk, which claims Ouedraogo is also attracting attention from Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
We know that United could do with strengthening their midfield next summer, with players like Christian Eriksen and Casemiro gradually starting to look past their best.
It would do no harm for Erik ten Hag to sign some young players to rejuvenate the midfield department, although I still think Mason Mount was a good signing.
We’ve also got uncertainty surrounding the futures of Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay.
Ouedragogo is earning plaudits in the Bundesliga, which, rightly or wrongly, has a reputation for the emergence of talent it generates.
The prodigious 17-year-old has set the German league on high alert, with many tipping the youngster for a bright future in the game.
My only concern is with the likelihood of signing young German talent also wanted by Bayern Munich.
