Manchester United fans protested against the Glazer ownership at Leigh Sports Village as Marc Skinner’s side hosted Arsenal in the Women’s Super League.
An injury-time strike from Arsenal’s Close Lacasse forced Manchester United Women to share the spoils in a dramatic WSL clash.
The Reds had been in front through goals from Leah Galton and Melvine Malard, but it was Arsenal’s Stina Blackstenius who scored an opening goal for the Gunners inside the opening 15 minutes.
Alessia Russo returned to face her former club and was reliably booed by the home crowd whenever she touched the ball. She was kept quiet by her former teammates on the night, redacted to only two touches in the box in the first-half.
Members of Manchester United fan group The 1958 attended the match with anti-Glazer banners. They have also announced plans for another protest today at 2pm outside the ticket office.

Fans were also heard singing anti-Glazer chants during the game, which is not something that has happened at a WSL match previously. They also performed a sit-in protest after the match.

It’s great to see United fans together in agreement on something – that the football club needs new owners that will care for it as well as our reputation.
The Glazers are careless owners and they only care about their pockets. Enough is enough.
