Louis Saha names Premier League striker he wants Manchester United to sign

Louis Saha wants to see Manchester United sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney when his ban ends.

Erik ten Hag’s side are still lacking goals, though the introduction of Rasmus Hojlund has been a welcome one.

Former United striker still believes the team needs a player like Toney, who will be available in January at the right price.

Here’s what Saha said about Toney in an interview with Betfred, as relayed by the Manchester Evening News: “Ivan can adapt to any team. He’s mentally very strong, so I’m confident that he will make the right decision for himself. He can play in any team because of how strong and technically gifted he is. Ivan’s also very mobile and has the right formula you need to play as a striker for any club. Manchester United certainly need more options up front as all the top clubs have various options to choose from.”

Toney played a behind-closed-doors friendly this week as he prepares to return from an eight-month betting ban.

It is believed that a number of top Premier League clubs are plotting a move for the Englishman this winter, including Arsenal.

But Saha feels United should join the race for the 27-year-old, who I think is good enough to switch Brentford for the biggest club in England.

Toney has 68 goals and 21 assists across 124 appearances for Brentford. United could do with more strikers and I think most fans would agree think Anthony Martial should be moved on once a suitable offer comes in. That’s hardly an unpopular opinion.
