(Video) Kobbie Mainoo returns to first-team training ahead of Galatasaray clash

Manchester United have been handed a boost as Kobbie Mainoo returns to full training for the first time this season.

The 18-year-old midfielder impressed during pre-season until he sustained an ankle injury against Real Madrid.

As a result, Mainoo hasn’t been available for selection this season. He returned to individual training last month but was with the rest of the first team group as the players prepared to face Galatasaray in the Champions League.

United will look to get back to their European campaign on track after losing their group opener against Bayern Munich in Bavaria.

The Reds remain favourites with Bayern to progress to the knockout phase.

Mainoo was also joined by Dan Gore, who made his senior debut for United in the Carabao Cup last week.

The game against Galatasaray may come too soon for Mainoo, however, it’s a boost for Ten Hag to have another midfielder available in the squad. He was outstanding in the three pre-season matches he played during the summer.
