Crystal Palace defender fires warning to Rasmus Hojlund ahead of trips to Old Trafford

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund will face international teammate Joachim Andersen this week.

With back-to-back fixtures between United and Crystal Palace, the Denmark duo could face one another twice in the one week unless their managers opt to make changes for the Carabao Cup tie on Tuesday night.

Hojlund recently returned from injury and Erik ten Hag may decide it’s too risky to start him in the earlier rounds of the cup. Alternatively, the manager could start with Anthony Martial in attack.

There is plenty of pressure on Hojlund, 20, but we’ve got to be patient. United won’t want his back injury to reoccur anytime soon and it may be best to keep him for the league game against Palace.

Joachim Andersen believes Hojlund is the real deal – though he is also hopeful he can keep him quiet on the pitch.

“It’s going to be fun to play against him!,” Joachim told Palace’s official website.

“He’s a young lad with a good character, a lot of energy and really good attributes. He’s quick, he’s strong and he has a lot of energy.

“It’s not easy to play against a player like him and I think his start [in England] has been really good. He scored last week so I’m really happy for him.

“Hopefully he’ll score a lot of goals for our national team… but I think I can handle him in the games we’re going to play against each other!”

Hopefully Hojlund – or whoever leads the attack – can get the job done and United can book their place into the next round of the Carabao Cup.
