Manchester United given boost as duo could return against Crystal Palace

Mason Mount and Harry Maguire are set to be available for Manchester United’s Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

The Manchester Evening News has done a report on both players taking part in training this morning and it looks like they will be involved in our Carabao Cup clash versus Crystal Palace.

Mount has not played for United since sustaining a hamstring injury in the 2-0 defeat away at Tottenham last month.

The England international didn’t make the squad to face Burnley on Saturday, but with another week of training under his belt I think we’ll see him at some stage against Palace.

Harry Maguire also comes into contention which is a bonus for Erik ten Hag because the manager has a shortage of options across defence. He will be desperate for minutes on the pitch.

The return of Mount gives the midfielder a chance to make an impression after a few underwhelming performances at the beginning of the season.

It remains to be seen if Ten Hag will make many chances from the side that beat Burnley at the weekend. He will be mindful of the ongoing injury crisis, but at the same time we need to put together a winning run after such a slow start to the campaign.

The likes of Sofyan Amrabat could do with the minutes.
