Manchester United linked with big money swoop for Bayern Munich winger

Manchester United are lining up a big offer for Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry.

It goes without saying that it has been a challenging start to the season for United. Not just in the Premier League, but the Reds started their Champions League campaign with a 4-3 defeat away to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

Erik ten Hag has had to deal with a flurry of issues such as injuries and players having issues off the pitch. However, it can be said we put up a good fight to Bayern – until the very end by scoring two late goals.

The issues with Jadon Sancho and Antony could mean United have to monitor the market for a new right winger. That has led to early suggestions that United could move for Bayern’s Serge Gnabry, who we also remember from his time at Arsenal.

According to Spanish publication Nacional (via Football365), Real Madrid may face competition from United for Gnabry’s signature next summer.

There is also a suggestion that United are willing to pay a lot for Gnabry in January, but that’s not a very strong stance to take into negotiations because we’d be asking for our pants to be pulled down. Especially when talk of a takeover has gone quiet.

Gnabry is under contract at Bayern until 2026, so the Bundesliga will be under no pressure to sell the Germany international, who I’m sure is happy is Bavaria winning Bundesliga titles.
