Manchester United dismiss reports of dressing room bust-up following Brighton defeat

Manchester United have denied reports that players were involved in a dressing room bust-up following Saturday’s defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion, as per Mail Sport.

Last night, speculation quickly circulated on social media claiming that numerous players had locked horns after the team suffered their third loss of the campaign.

The Sun originally published an article alleging that club captain Bruno Fernandes had berated Scott McTominay, while centre-backs Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof both voiced their frustrations and ‘lost it with each other’.

Erik ten Hag was also forced to intervene in this seemingly made-up or dramatised scenario.

Mail’s update states that the Red Devils rebutted the story when contacted about its accuracy.

Morale will have taken a dip

Still, you’d expect that tempers did flare after the full-time whistle. Three losses in five games is a poor start to the season by all accounts, so of course fingers will be pointed when all’s said and done.

What’s most important is that the team use this feeling of defeat and embarrassment to prevent it from happening again. There’s a whole campaign ahead to get back on track and unity will be crucial amongst the squad if they want any chance of picking up form – so air out your concerns and then get on with it.
