Bayern Munich receive fitness boost ahead of Manchester United clash

Manchester United are preparing for a highly anticipated trip to Munich next week as Erik ten Hag faces his biggest test since taking over the club last year.

Ten Hag secured a return to the Champions League in his maiden campaign by finishing third in the league and United’s first game back at Europe’s fine dining table is hardly an easy one.

The German champions have their sights set on winning the tournament and spent accordingly in the summer, with their most significant transfer being the arrival of Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

Going into the game, Thomas Tuchel’s men were dealt an injury scare as the talismanic midfielder Joshua Kimmich was labelled a doubt.

Kingsley Coman, who scored the winner in the final of their last triumphant Champions League campaign, was another star player who was doubtful for Tuesday’s game – there is now an update on his condition.

The France international missed their 2-2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen but according to BILD, he has now returned to training on an individual level and did light running on the grass. As per the report, Coman’s brief 20-minute training session consisted of running and no ball work.

United are not without injury concerns themselves, as there is little clarity on whether Sofyan Amrabat will be available to make his debut for the Reds.

The Morocco international joined the club on transfer deadline day but missed this weekend’s game against Brighton. Prior to the game, Ten Hag revealed that he was not far away from full fitness.

Mason Mount and Raphael Varane are expected to miss the game, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia continuing to watch on from the sidelines.
