Teden Mengi is set to complete a permanent move from Manchester United to Luton Town, as per Manchester Evening News.
Reporter Pete O’Rourke has stated that the United star is undergoing a medical with the Hatters today (Thursday).
Mengi, 21, rebuffed interest from clubs across Europe and instead opted to stay in the Premier League with the newly-promoted side.
The deal is expected to be completed by tomorrow’s transfer deadline, meaning he can get to work imminently and be ready to join in the action following the September international break.
Mengi to leave United
He has been active throughout the summer with coaches in a bid to reach full and peak fitness ahead of the proposed move. Mengi had planned to leave on loan earlier this year, in the January transfer window, but an injury meant that his exit fell through.
The defender was awarded his debut by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2020 during a Europa League clash, and he’s also completed loan spells with Derby County and Birmingham City.
