Manchester United enquire about Brentford left-back

Manchester United have reportedly made an approach to Brentford over a possible move for defender Rico Henry.

The list of potential left-back recruits for United is growing ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out injured, Diogo Dalot filled the void on the left against Nottingham Forest on Saturday and we’ve struggled to say anything positive about his performance.

By playing Dalot on the left at the weekend, Erik ten Hag overlooked Alvaro Fernandez, who has yet to make his debut for the senior side. There is also speculation that the young Spaniard could move to Granada on a season-long loan to gain first team experience at a high level.

As a result, United are looking at several left-backs, as reported by Stretty News last week.

The Daily Mail claims United could turn to Brentford left-back Rico Henry, having made initial checks ahead of the transfer deadline.

The Reds are also looking at Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon as well as Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella and Brentford’s Ryan Bertrand.

Shaw is facing months on the sidelines and we still don’t know when Malacia is scheduled to return. The only reason stopping United from fixing this issue properly, as well as others in the team, is purely down to Glazernomics.

Henry is arguably the best option on the list.
