Here we go: Romano confirms Manchester United star will have medical at Premier League club today

Dean Henderson will undergo his medical tests with Crystal Palace today ahead of a permanent transfer, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

The goalkeeper had been expected to leave Manchester United all summer after their acquisition of Andre Onana meant that he would be playing second fiddle to the No.1 for another season.

Henderson, 26, had been heavily linked with Nottingham Forest – where he spent last term on loan – but a thigh injury that he sustained in January kept him out of United’s pre-season and consequently, made his exit path significantly harder.

Now though, he finally has the permanent move his heart desires and he’ll leave United for fellow Premier League outfit Palace. Henderson is a graduate of Carrington and has made 29 senior appearances for the club.

They’ll receive a package of £20 million for the Englishman; £15m in a flat-rate fee and £5m in add-ons.

United have sought Fenerbache shot-stopper Altay Bayindir as a suitable backup ‘keeper, so that deal is expected to be completed following Henderson’s transfer.
