Manchester United recieve boost as Napoli reconsider Sofyan Amrabat pursuit

Napoli are the one of the club’s being linked with Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, along with Manchester United.

The Morocco international has been on Manchester United’s radar all summer and after a slow start to the 2023/24 season, it’s clear that Erik ten Hag needs another quality addition to support Casemiro in the middle.

Amrabat wouldn’t only support Casemiro, but he can provide cover for the Brazil international too.

As things stand, Ten Hag’s cover for Casemiro is Scott McTominay and it doesn’t look like he has been convinced by the Scotland international.

According to Calciomercato, Napoli believe Fiorentina’s asking price is too high for a player that can leave for free next year.

The report states that Fiorentina will demand £30 million, which would mean Napoli have to sell a player before making an offer.

United find themselves in a similar position needing to sell players in order to fund more acquisitions. The problem they face is deadline day is now less than a week away.

Furthermore, Gianluca Di Marzio from Sky Italy claims Fiorentina are still willing to sell Amrabat this summer so long as their conditions are met.

Di Marzio says both United and Liverpool are interested, although neither are yet to submit a formal offer for the player.

It sounds like Amrabat has been put on the long finger all summer and we could really do with a player like him against Nottingham Forest or next week when we travel to Arsenal.
