Manchester United star names which forward is club’s best finisher

Tom Heaton has picked one Manchester United teammate as the club’s ‘best finisher’.

The goalkeeper, who is currently sidelined with a calf injury, sat down with MUTV to create his perfect player by using traits from the Red Devils squad.

One particular choice had fans intrigued – when he opted for Anthony Martial when quizzed on United’s most prolific finisher.

Heaton said: “He can bend it, he can whip it, he can go with power, he can lift it over you. He’s got that composure, that sort of calmness in front of goal that makes it difficult for a goalkeeper. You very often want people to take it a bit early or you can force them into something but with him, it’s very difficult to affect him. When he’s through on goal, usually it’s ending up in the goal.”

The Frenchman has just returned to the fold after being sidelined with a hamstring injury, so he’ll be keen on getting off the mark with a goal in the side’s forthcoming fixtures.

Martial faces competition to lead the line

Rasmus Hojlund’s arrival may see Martial’s game time limited, but healthy competition is needed in the squad – especially in the forward department, as they must be hungry to find the back of the net and earn their spot in the starting 11.

Martial oversaw his most scintillating season as a Red in the 2019/2020 campaign, when he netted 23 goals and contributed 12 assists.
