Alvaro Fernandez is unlikely to get a look in at Manchester United this summer, which is a shame because he looks like a player with huge potential.

Fernandez spent last season at Championship side Preston and he impressed in a United shirt during the pre-season tour.

However, it’s unlikely that he will be able to edge his way into the team ahead of Luke Shaw. It’s also worth noting that Erik ten Hag has Tyrell Malacia as a back-up option, too.

That means Fernandez is expected to leave temporarily again.

According to Sky Sports, Granda are in formal talks with Manchester United over a potential loan deal for Fernandez.

The report states discussions are ongoing, with the Spanish side wanting an option to make a loan permanent.

Hopefully, United don’t agree to that and give him another chance to come back next year.
