Manchester United are being linked with a move for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.
The Mail ran a report last week stating Manchester United considered a swoop for Onana, but they’ve seemingly decided to prioritise Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat.
A fresh update from The Guardian goes one step further by suggesting United have now made an approach to Everton over the midfielder.
Everton’s valuation for Onana is believed to be around £50 million, which could prove to be a stumbling block. The Toffees also fear they will not be able to stop him leaving if he wants to move to Old Trafford.
Onana, 21, could end up being priced out of a move if Everton stick to their £50m valuation. The report adds that United believe he’s more than a destroyer and is good enough on the ball to play for Ten Hag.
To pay such a figure on another midfielder, I reckon United will need to sell more players.
The Belgium international could be a replacement for Scott McTominay, with the Scotland international linked with a possible move away this summer.
