Erik ten Hag was delighted to be back at Old Trafford last night for Manchester United’s 2023/24 season opener.

The Red Devils oversaw a narrow 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers and were lucky to take all three points on the night.

United’s faithful following certainly pushed them over the line throughout the 97 minutes of action, as the stadium was in full voice yet again in M16.

Ten Hag highlighted the impact of the relationship between the Reds and their supporters post-match and when speaking to MUTV.

Ten Hag reacts

“I think it was back. We are back at Old Trafford, the vibe is back. The connection between fans and [the] team is there. We know [that] every game is tough in the Premier League and you don’t get your points here for nothing, but we fought for it.

“Now, we have to work on our football,” he continued. “We already have seen last season, but also in pre-season, you see pre-season is different as they are friendlies – the league is different. We know we have to be better on the ball and that’s what we have to aim for.”
