The 1958 announce plans for anti-Glazer protests ahead of new season, including sit-in vs Nottingham Forest

The 1958 has announced plans for more anti-Glazer protests ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Referred to as an underground group of Reds intent on upholding the values of Manchester United, its culture and traditions, The 1958 pushed hard to voice their anger on the Glazers last season with regular protests.

That looks set to continue while the Glazer family drag their heels over the takeover.

The group tweeted to announce fans will be encouraged to stage a 60-minute sit-in after the game against Nottingham Forest on 26 August. The is a new tactic from the 1958, who usually arrange marches to Old Trafford and protests outside the ground – which is what they have planned for the Wolves game when United kick-off the new Premier League season.

However, for the Wolves game, The 1958 are asking for fans to bring flags and banners to promote the Forest sit-in.

The 1958 added: “United in defiance. 18 years of ignorance, 18 years of silence. A resolution is needed.”
