Manchester United Women have four representatives in the World Cup round of 16.

Mary Earps, Ella Toone and Katie Zelem all progressed with England after topping Group D with three wins in three games.

They’ll now be hoping to maintain their perfect record as they prepare themselves for the knockout stages, and if the team’s first few games were anything to go by, the Lionesses are certainly strong contenders to lift the trophy.

England oversaw two successive 1-0 wins against Haiti and Denmark before thrashing China 6-1 to book their place in the next round. Earps, as always, proved to be a standout performer and was unlucky to concede her first goal of the tournament through a spot-kick yesterday.

Next up for England

Sarina Wiegman’s side face Nigeria on Monday, August 7 at 8.30am BST – a kick-off time that UK viewers certainly aren’t accustomed to! Should they reign victorious, they will then face the winner of Australia vs Denmark in the quarter-finals.

Aside from the English trio, Vilde Boe Risa has progressed with Norway.
