Galatasaray vice-president flies to England for further talks over Manchester United midfielder

Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has reportedly travelled to England to push their attempts to seal a deal for Manchester United midfielder Fred.

Fred is believed to be one of the players Erik ten Hag is willing to sell this summer and he has not travelled with the squad to the US for pre-season.

It would make sense for United to sell at least one midfielder this summer. And, it would be fair to say Fred is surplus to requirements following the arrival of Mason Mount.

There’s also speculation linking the Reds with a move for Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat.

While Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this month that United had turned down Galatasaray’s initial bid for the Brazil international, The Express reports vice-president Timur has flown to England on Wednesday night to conduct further talks over Fred.

United valued Fred at £20m at the beginning of the summer, which seemingly forced Fulham to walk away from the deal.

It remains to be seen if the Turkish outfit will match that £20m valuation.
