Nottingham Forest announce signing of Manchester United attacker as clubs continue talks over another deal

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Anthony Elanga.

The 21-year-old leaves Manchester United after nine years with the club, in which he progressed from the Academy to the senior setup and registered 55 first-team appearances.

It is believed that the Red Devils will receive £15 million from the transfer.

Now, Forest will continue working on adding another Carrington graduate to their ranks in the form of Dean Henderson. He spent last season on loan at the City Ground and has been keen to return on a permanent move this summer, however, the clubs are yet to reach an agreement on a fee.

Henderson, 26, is looking to leave Old Trafford as he is only focused on being a club’s No.1. Given the recent signing of Andre Onana, he’ll know that role won’t be possible in Manchester this season.

Henderson’s future still undetermined

Steve Cooper was impressed with what he saw of the Englishman last term before his campaign was cut short with a thigh injury on January 14, though Henderson’s performances clearly did enough to warrant a return to the Trees.

Forest and United remain locked in negotiations over his future and it is believed that both a permanent move and a loan deal that includes an option to buy are on the table, according to The Athletic.
