(Video) Donny van de Beek scores stunning volley to give Man United the lead vs Lyon

Manchester United are up and running in their second pre-season friendly of the summer and just like against Leeds United last week, it’s the second-half team that is getting the job done.

Erik ten Hag named a similar side for the start of the game, with Antony one of the returning players after missing the game in Oslo.

United wasted a number of chances in the first 45 minutes but it did not take long for the replacing squad to make their dominance pay after the interval.

Donny van de Beek has not featured for United since just after the World Cup after he sustained a serious knee injury but he was back in the side for the second half.

The Dutchman gave his side the lead just minutes into the second half with a stunning volley, as seen below, connecting beautifully with a cross from Dan Gore.

Van de Beek was visibly relieved in his celebrations and his teammates were over the moon – it looked like a big moment for him as he tries to revive his career.

United will now look to score another goal and put the game beyond the French giants.
