Dean Henderson left out of Manchester United squad for Oslo trip

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has been left out of Erik ten Hag’s 26-man squad for their pre-season friendly against Leeds in Norway.

Henderson returned to training at Carrington after spending last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

The 26-year-old was left out of the squad travelling to Oslo amid reports he will not play second fiddle next season. Instead Henderson will look to leave Old Trafford.

United have lined up Inter Milan ace Andre Onana as David de Gea’s replacement, so there’s little hope for Henderson becoming first choice under Ten Hag.

According to the Daily Mail, Henderson has made it clear to his manager that he doesn’t want to be on the bench for the coming campaign.

In turn, Henderson is expected to complete a permanent move to Nottingham Forest worth up to £20m once Onana joins United (via The Athletic).

Henderson’s absence from the squad could also be due to the fact he’s recovering from a long-term injury.
