Eredivisie club set their sights on Manchester United winger

Erik ten Hag will not be short of options next season as he ponders over which wingers he will rely on but there are a number of players that are facing uncertain futures at the club.

Jadon Sancho is certainly one of them, with the England winger experiencing a difficult first two years at Old Trafford. Facundo Pellistri is another player who will be looking for greater exposure.

The Uruguay international spent the first 18 months of his contract at United out on loan but he was available for selection for the entirety of the 2022/23 campaign.

His first-team debut did not come until roughly halfway through the season but after that, he was used sporadically by Ten Hag as the youngster was gradually introduced.

Now, just days before Pellistri is expected to be named in Ten Hag’s pre-season squad, it is being reported that Eredivisie club FC Twente are keen on signing him on loan.

That’s according to Dutch outlet Voetbal International, who say that FC Twente are hoping that United will sign off on a season-long loan, having already made an enquiry.

Pellistri made 10 first-team appearances for the Reds last season but with two years remaining on his contract, it may be time for United to make a decision on his future.

It has been reported that Ten Hag is keen to extend his stay at Old Trafford but thus far, there has not been an agreement on an extension to the contract he signed in 2020.

Amad Diallo is another young winger that will be vying for the same position in the side as Pellistri and United face similar questions in regard to his future.

Diallo enjoyed a career-best campaign as he helped Sunderland to the Championship play-offs but he is also looking to impress Ten Hag in this summer’s USA tour.
