Ethan Laird has left Manchester United on a permanent transfer to Birmingham City.
The 21-year-old joins the West Midlands side on a three-year contract (subject to league and FA clearance) ahead of the 2023/2024 campaign, in which they’ll be chasing promotion to the top flight.

Laird made two senior appearances for United, both of which came in the Europa League, against Astana and AZ Alkmaar in the 2019/2020 season.
He completed numerous loan spells throughout his time as a Red; MK Dons, Swansea City, AFC Bournemouth and Queens Park Rangers. The crucial experience he gained will now be pivotal as he embarks on another journey in the Championship.
Laird exits United
The Englishman joined Carrington at 10 years old and graduated through the youth ranks to transition into a hot prospect in senior football, so hopefully he’s able to continue his development in his new venture.
At St. Andrew’s, he’ll reunite with fellow Academy graduate Tahith Chong.
