Former Manchester United striker slams Glazers over lack of transfer activity

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has criticised the Glazer family for their role in the club being slow to act in the transfer market.

Manchester United have had three bids turned down for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, however, we’ve seen none of our players sold. That is significant because Erik ten Hag’s budget this summer will be heavily impacted on how much money is recouped from transfers.

United are yet to make a signing this summer, while our rivals are looking to make headway in the market.

The main focus for Ten Hag this summer will be to sign a centre-forward, but he also needs a top-class goalkeeper. We already know that he will be working on a limited budget.

Speaking to Betfred (H/t Manchester Evening News), Saha said: “It’s not been good to see. After United’s final game of the season, we were all hoping that the Glazers would have respected the transition that’s needed. If they really loved the club, then they should understand that the need for investment to push the club onto the next level is really, really big. What you do or don’t do is going to be the statement you put out to the fans, so at this moment I’m really concerned. The club may have already lined up some guaranteed signings, but they can’t be completed due to the budget set by the Glazers for summer transfers. Any club can see and potentially take advantage of their situation, so it’s not great.”

The problem here is this isn’t anything new. United don’t usually get transfers across the line in June and we tend to be slow out of the traps every summer.

That’s completely down to the Glazer family and the incompetent puppets they hire to run the club.

The Glazers never cared about United or investing in the team. Why would they start now when they’re about to sell up and hand the keys over to new owners?

  1. Utd say they are looking at players they want for months before the transfer window opens and when it does open we do nothing about it and someone else walks in and buys the player in a few days. We just look like mugs
