Chelsea prepare to compromise with Manchester United over Mason Mount transfer

Chelsea are keen to find a resolution with Manchester United over the transfer of Mason Mount.

Manchester United have had three offers rejected by Chelsea this month, with the latest bid worth £50 million plus £5 million in add-ons.

In turn, Chelsea wanted £58m plus £7m in add-ons.

There are plans for more talks between the two clubs this week, and The Guardian believes Chelsea are ready to bring the saga to an end at long last.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino has identified Moises Caicedo as a midfield target and Brighton was at least £80m for the Ecuador international.

Mount’s deal expires next summer and reports suggest he has already agreed personal terms with United, so a deal hangs on whether the two clubs can reach an agreement.

The England international has nothing to gain from returning to Chelsea for pre-season. This is a deal United have been working on for long enough now, and we should be able to conclude talks by the weekend.

There is no denying that Mount is one of the best academy products to come from Chelsea, but it sounds like the Blues are coming the terms with the fact he doesn’t want to be there next season.

With Erik ten Hag expressing a keen interest in Mount, why would he stay at Chelsea?
