Manchester United hold interest in €30m-rated Lille youngster

Manchester United are interested in Lille youngster Carlos Baleba.

The Cameroonian midfielder joined Lille from the Brasseries du Cameroun academy last January, but he emerged as a promising prospect in Paulo Fonseca’s side in the second half of last season.

Baleba, 19, often came on from the bench and made a total of 19 appearances in Ligue 1 last season.

According to La Voix des Sports, Manchester United and Newcastle are looking at the youngster as a potential target this summer.

The report also states that we might need to wait a few weeks to see what happens – so there’s nothing planned for the imminent future expect for apparent willingness from United and Newcastle to table a €30m offer for Baleba’s signature.

This is the sort of signing United could make towards the end of the transfer window because Erik ten Hag will know how much money he has left to spend – hopefully after signing a new striker and goalkeeper.

Baleba sounds like a player to watch for the future, but we’ll definitely keep our eyes pealed for more Baleba links.
