Gary Neville blasts Glazers for poor but ‘fitting’ handling of takeover process

Gary Neville has slammed the Glazers yet again for their handling of the Manchester United sale process.

It was announced in November 2022 that the Americans would be seeking outside investment into England’s most successful club.

Reports suggested that any deal was likely to be agreed within the first quarter of 2023, but here we are now in June and none the wiser on what the future of the club holds.

Supporters have dealt with non-stop speculation and false breakthroughs, sparking significant frustration at how the Americans are choosing to drag their heels despite it being a crucial time of year for United, with the transfer window having just opened.

There are now concerns about how matters may impact Erik ten Hag’s transfer plans. The manager is left with little clarity on budget or plans, leaving United sat idle on the market while other Premier League clubs get their business done early.

Neville on Glazers

Neville weighed in on the issue when speaking with BBC Radio 5 Live (via Simon Stone): “Embarrassing. But it’s what they have done, drag everything out, always in their best interests. Fans not being updated by owners on ownership sale [is] not good enough but fitting with how they have operated for 20 years now.”
