Manchester United prepare £50m bid for Mason Mount

Manchester United are preparing an improved offer worth £50 million for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

After having a £40m bid for Mount rejected by Chelsea earlier this week, Manchester United are proposing a bigger deal for the England international this time around – but they are not willing to go much higher.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea value Mount at £70m, but with the player about to enter the final year of his contract, United feel their valuation of £50m is far more realistic.

The report adds that United’s latest bid is likely to be their last, with pressure now on Chelsea to either accept or risk keeping an unhappy player next season.

It has already been reported that Mount has agreed personal terms with United.

Mount will be able to leave Chelsea on a free next year, so United are right to give the Blues a dilemma. We must be willing to walk away if Todd Boehly attempts daylight robbery.

Chelsea also have to comply with Financial Fair Play rules after spending more than £600m in the last two transfer windows. And, it would only help their case by moving on Mount this summer as opposed to losing him on a Bosman.
