Until now all of the Kim Min-jae to Manchester United speculation came from Italy. Most of the English media outlets were quiet on the matter, choosing only to cite reports from Italian publications.

Sky Sports News jumped on the story last night when they stressed Manchester United have made it clear to the representatives of Kim Min-jae they are interested in signing him.

Kim has enjoyed an incredible first season in Serie A as Napoli lifted the title for the first time in 33-years. However, after signing the highly-rated defender from Fenerbahce a year ago, it sounds like he could be on the move again.

Erik ten Hag is prioritising a new striker in the transfer market, but it is now clear that he wants to add a centre-back to his squad. There’s also a strong likelihood that Harry Maguire will be moved on before the start of next season.

According to RMC Sport, United are still in “pole position” to sign Kim despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

It is understood that this will come as a blow for PSG, with the French club looking for a new central defender after confirming Sergio Ramos’ exit.

Only time will tell if United have the money to activate Kim Min-jae’s release clause.
