Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has intervened with Qatar’s bid to takeover Manchester United, according to a new report.
The Glazer family announced last November that they would welcome offers to buy Manchester United. Since then we’ve had a two-horse race between Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
According to The Athletic, Sheikh Jassim’s bidding team (Nine Two Foundation) initially consulted PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi for advice on United’s valuation.
It is understood that the Glazers want $8 billion (£6.4bn) to sell the club, but Sheikh Jassim has not yet met those demands.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein also claims Al-Khelaifi has subsequently been contacted by the Glazers in an attempt to persuade Sheikh Jassim to increase his bid. That would suggest that the American family are getting a bit desperate.
This will only make it more difficult for Nine Two Foundation to claim their bid for United is not stake backed, but we were never in any doubt when it came to that.
Furthermore, Sheikh Jassim has played no personal role in negotiations with Raine Group or the Glazers. That only raises further questions about him being a front for the Qatari state.
It is also stressed that Ratcliffe’s bid values the entire club slightly higher. However, the INEOS offer is for a staged takeover that would leave some or all of the six Glazer siblings as minority shareholders, before buying them out at a later date.

as long as the Glazers are gone at the point of sale mickey Mouse could own us as far as i’m concerned they are determined to heap misery on our long suffering fans to the bitter end and if they stay in any capacity they’ll still no doubt be drawing dividends from the club
Spot on.the glazers are a bunch of vultures who couldn’t give a f*** about Manchester United.
No problem at all
Greedy Glazers finally ready to quit 👺👺
I don’t see a real problem with state owned backers. The problem is that some of them cheat and make up numbers. If they owned a club and ran them as businesses then I see no problem. This is more a regulatory/rules problem than Who owns a club. City for instance clearly cheated at the beginning but I don’t think they do anymore. They are just incredibly well run with the best people in the business in all positions.
United could easily run as a profitable business and compete if they didn’t have the glazers or a similar model-they need to clear that debt. That is of utmost importance.
United’s problems are many and stem from the glazers. They are so incompetent and Woodward/Arnold/Murtough are too. These guys are a real cancer on the club. If the glazers stay but have no say in the operations I don’t really care. The whole board needs to be cleared if united are to be successful again basically.
So either works as long as they run the club properly with skilled people in all
Positions. Otherwise the sale would be pointless.
The glazers should have sold the club to the Qataris even yesterday, they are the best beaders. Ratclife can’t have a finance mussle to compete with Newcastle and Mancity owners. He has completely failed at Nice and funs at Nice are in the same state or even worse as or than us at Manchester united
